About Tether
USDT: reserve-backed dollar liquidity at global scale
A centralized reserve model
USDT is issued by Tether and is designed to track the U.S. dollar through reserves and issuer redemption mechanisms. Unlike overcollateralized DeFi stablecoins, its core risk analysis centers on the issuer, reserve assets and redemption framework.
Multi-chain distribution creates fragmented liquidity
USDT circulates across multiple blockchain networks. Supply on one chain is not interchangeable operationally with another unless exchanges, bridges or issuer-supported transfers provide the needed route.
What matters beyond a one-dollar quote
Review Tether’s reserve reporting, issuance and redemption activity, chain-level supply, exchange concentration and regulatory developments. A tight peg shows market confidence at a moment in time; it does not by itself describe reserve composition or counterparty risk.
